CTNP Orthodontics - Dr. Teixeira

Dr. Cristina Teixeira graduated from the University of Pennsylvania where she completed her Dental Medicine Doctor's degree. She also has a Master Degree in Oral Biology and is a certified Orthodontist. While enjoying the extraordinary intellectual environment of the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Teixeira's enthusiasm with science led her to pursue a PH.D in Developmental Biology. Her research focused on cartilage, bone formation and growth. Dr Teixeira's interest in skeletal development stems from her exposure to patients with cleft palate and growth anomalies during her clinical experience.
Dr. Teixeira is currently an Assistant Professor at New York University College of Dentistry with a dual appointment in the Department of Orthodontics and the Department of Basic Science & Craniofacial Biology. She chair's the Orthodontic Research Committee that supervises the research projects in the Orthodontic Department while maintaining her own cartilage and bone research laboratory. Dr. Teixeira has been invited to speak at numerous national and international universities and conferences. She has published extensively, and over the years her research and clinical work has been recognized with several awards. She is a member of many prestigious research and dental organizations, and is certified by the American Board of Orthodontics.
